Guardian Warm Roof

The perennial problem of conservatories being too hot in summer and too cold in winter is a thing of the past with the advent of the Guardian Warm Roof System. This original concept is the next logical step in conservatory development. A Guardian roof upgrade will allow you to dispense with your old inefficient glass or polycarbonate roof and ensure that you have the use of your conservatory every day of the year.

Bringing a revolutionary new approach to conservatory roof upgrade, the Guardian roof makes your conservatory more like a home extension. The exceptionally strong and lightweight Guardian roof is the brand leader in this type of upgrade, unparalleled in its standards of performance and in its modern styling. It is also quick to install, taking only a few days from start to finish, it is Local Authority Building Control (LABC) approved in England and Local Authority Building Standards Scotland (LABSS) approved.

The Guardian Warm Roof is a thermally efficient, technically designed and fully insulated roof system which is lighter than a conventional glass conservatory roof. It brings with it a host of advantages. Apart from being able to use your conservatory all year round, it will reduce your energy costs because of its unrivalled thermal qualities, achieving a maximum U value of 0.18 W/㎡K. In addition it will help reduce extraneous noise and give you the option of a fully solid roof or partially solid one with the addition of rooflights or skylights. In addition, you will have an interior finish which makes your conservatory more like a home extension, it is fully approved by local authority building control and will fit any type of conservatory design.

The Guardian Warm Roof completely replaces your existing conservatory roof, it does not overclad it. After the removal of your old roof, a pre-engineered frame comprising aluminium rafters, ridges and wall plates are fitted to a ventilated ring beam, which attaches your new roof to the old conservatory window panel walls. Next, a layer of weatherproof plyboard is added, then a waterproof breathable membrane. On top of the membrane the tiles are attached. These are Guardian Warm Roof tiles which are made of lightweight steel with an Aluzinc coating. The tiles come in a variety of colours in the brown/red green and grey spectrum. Although the tiles have the appearance of traditional tiles, no cement or mortar is used in the fixing which gives them a very crisp appearance, and they are guaranteed for 40 years. This exceptional roof is also able to be laid with a pitch as low as 15° so is suitable for most situations.

On the inside of the roof, two layers of insulation are added to the underside of the rafters leaving an air gap for ventilation. This gives a total of 125mm of insulation which results in a reduction in heat loss in cold weather and a reduction in heat surplus in warm weather. The last layer to be added is the insulated plasterboard ready for the final finish of plaster. In addition, there is the opportunity for various personal final touches such as concealed lighting and skylights or rooflights. Once constructed you will have peace of mind because your Guardian room is fully guaranteed.
